Bio
Pascal is the Biology Team Leader for Neuroscience Discovery (Mood) based in La Jolla, CA. Pascal began his career at Janssen in 1999. In close collaboration with his Medicinal Chemistry colleagues, he has successfully led research resulting in the discovery of 12 new molecular entities. Seven of these have entered Phase 1 clinical trials. The most advanced molecule, seltorexant, a selective orexin-2 receptor antagonist, is transitioning to Phase 3. Pascal has also led several collaborations with academic investigators to advance science around new emerging drug targets. Pascal received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Liege (Belgium), a master’s degree in Pharmacology/Toxicology from the University of Montpellier (France) and his doctorate in Neuroscience from the Vrije Universiteit of Amsterdam (The Netherlands). Pascal has authored or coauthored more than 90 research papers.
