Bio
Paul currently is Early Development Expert within the Janssen Beerse Campus Office and acts as expert consultant and scientific coach to both internal and external research teams, biotech start-ups and entrepreneurs. Paul is a non-practicing pharmacist, PhD in clinical pharmacology and has almost 35 years experience in research and development of prescription and non-prescription pharmaceuticals, adjacent products and drug-device combination products both in academia (Leiden University) and in the pharmaceutical industry (Glaxo, Janssen). As individual contributor, manager, and functional leader in early clinical development, clinical pharmacology & pharmacokinetics and country medical affairs Paul has contributed to the development of many successful NMEs and line extensions. For 15 years he was global head of clinical pharmacology at Janssen and responsible for the clinical pharmacology development and/or first approval of more than 20 NMEs in diverse therapeutic areas: oncology, infectious-, cardiovascular- and metabolic diseases, pain, neurology, psychiatry, gastroenterology and reproductive medicine. Paul normally works out of Europe, in particular the Janssen sites in Belgium and The Netherlands.
