Looking Ahead at Retinal Disease Innovation
Visual impairment and blindness from retinal disorders impact 350 million people globally and will continue to increase in aging populations worldwide. Despite ongoing progress made by global programs to reduce disease prevalence, such as VISION 2020 launched by the World Health Organization, the Asia Pacific remains challenged with larger populations of patients affected by vision loss and impairment compared with other countries elsewhere[2] due to its growing and aging population[3].
In many cases, retinal diseases can be largely asymptomatic until in late stages, and because of this, early detection, and prompt treatment are often crucial in preventing irreversible blindness[4]. In this webinar, we will convene global R&D leaders from the Asia Pacific region and within the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) to discuss major challenges in the areas of age-related macular degeneration (AMD), glaucoma, and inherited retinal disorders (IRD) in the region, and to explore collaborative opportunities with the aim to help deliver innovative medicines in these areas of unmet need.
In this effort, Janssen is keen to explore working with regional scientists and innovators. We will be hosting 1-to-1 partnering meetings with selected companies to discuss their respective potential solutions/technologies. Scroll down for further details on how to apply.
